　　in addition to和in addition的用法不同，in addition to整个词组相当于一个介词，所以to的后面要接宾语；in addition相当于副词，通常放在从句的句首，后面接完整的句子。addition的基本意思是“加”，指将两个或两个以上的人或事物合在一起，作此解时为不可数名词，但有时其前可加不定冠词，作“加法”解。

　　2、用法不同

　　in addition在句子里单独做状语，一般用逗号隔开，相当于副词，通常放在从句的句首，后面接完整的句子。

　　in addition to整个词组相当于一个介词，所以to的后面要接宾语后面要接名词或是动名词做to的宾语。在句子里做状语。
